MedServ Medical Outreach – Durumi IDP Camp, Abuja
On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, MedServ Empowerment Foundation conducted a successful medical outreach at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Durumi, Abuja, aimed at enhancing health access for vulnerable populations. The outreach provided free medical services to approximately 100 camp residents, addressing key health concerns and promoting general wellness.
Highlights of the Outreach:
- Health Talk: Led by Dr. Bello, the session focused on Mental Health Awareness and Hygiene, emphasizing the importance of emotional wellbeing and personal hygiene. An interactive Q&A followed.
- Vitals and Screenings: Camp members received vital checks including Blood Pressure, BMI, and Temperature, along with point-of-care tests for Malaria, Typhoid, Hepatitis B & C, and Blood Sugar.
- Medical Consultation & Medication: Based on test results, patients were consulted by medical professionals and provided with appropriate medications on-site.
- Digital Health Records: Patient data were securely captured using digital tablets with physical forms as backup.
- Community Engagement: The event was supported by a team of doctors, pharmacists, media personnel, and volunteers, ensuring seamless coordination, crowd management, and documentation. Refreshments were also distributed post-screening.

The outreach successfully met its goal of delivering critical health services to underserved individuals while fostering awareness and early detection of health issues.
